Frequently Asked Questions![]() 1. For what age group is Practice Pals recommended? Practice Pals is generally recommended for ages 4-8, but some older children may also enjoy adding variety to their practicing. 2. How much time does it add to a child’s practicing? Practice Pals is designed to be used while a child practices, so should not lengthen the total required practice time by more than a few minutes. Generally, the parent should set up the practice session for the child in the interest of time (set up time approx. 1-2 minutes). 3. Can my child use Practice Pals by himself/herself? Generally, to have effective practice sessions, a young child should have an adult available for guidance and encouragement. However, if the practice chart is filled out in great detail (provided the child can read), and the parent sets up the daily activity, the child can be more independent in their practicing. Practice Pals is designed to make sure children include all the necessary components in their daily practicing, and helps parents and teachers to break down the practicing into smaller, manageable tasks. 4. When is the best time for my child to practice? It is recommended that children have a specific time set aside each day to practice, so that it becomes part of a daily routine. Otherwise, practicing is often left out. 5. How long should my child practice each day? That is a good question to ask your child’s instructor, but generally, for young children 10-15 minutes a day is a great start. Older children will often need up to 30 minutes a day to enjoy rapid success. |
